Bart Asner, M.D. is President of OptumCare Southern California, in addition to serving as the Chief Executive Officer, Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors of Monarch HealthCare, an IPA model medical group which he founded in 1994. Monarch is comprised of 2,250 physicians providing care to 250,000 MediCal, Commercial and Senior patients throughout Southern California, and is proud to have been designated a 2012 Pioneer Accountable Care Organization (ACO) by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Under the Pioneer ACO program Monarch provides care coordination services for traditional Medicare patients. Dr. Asner is Chair and serves on the Board of Directors of CAPG, California's largest professional organization of medical groups and IPAs. Dr. Asner is immediate past Chairman, and current member of the Board of Directors of the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA), a statewide policy group that brings together the top decision makers from the major sectors of the health care industry.
